The most concentrated area of Hispanic people in Louisiana is Zwolle, home of the annual Tamale Festival, located on the Western border.
Those of Spanish decent are considered Hispanic. Also of Hispanic descent, via the Canary Islands, Isleños settled in the southern swamplands near St. Bernard.
