Monday-Friday:


7:00-7:30 Bugle Call. Students are responsible for setting their own wake up time. Early birds may choose to get ready quietly in their rooms or start those important letters home. If you are toward sleeping late, trust that your RA will be happy to encourage you to get up and begin making preparations for the busy day ahead.

7:30-8:55 AM: Breakfast. You must attend breakfast. You will eat breakfast with your RA group. Different groups will be arriving throughout the breakfast time. When you and your group are done, you may exit to the courtyard and the SAC (Student Activity Center) to relax until it is time for class. All meals will be served in the Cafeteria. You will have a choice of hot entrees, fruit, juices, and cold cereals.

9:00-12:00: Class. All classes will be held in buildings in the Louisiana School building or on NSU's campus. A mid-morning break is provided. Care will be taken to ensure that you are familiar with the location of your classrooms and laboratories.

12:00-1:00 PM: Lunch. It's back to the Cafeteria for lunch where you will have the choice of hot entrees, soup, sandwiches, a complete salad bar, and deserts. You must attend lunch. You will go to lunch with your class, but you may eat with whomever you wish. When you and your group are done, you may exit the cafateria to the courtyard and SAC before you return for afternoon class session with your class.

1:00-4:00 PM: Class. Afternoon class session. An afternoon break and snack will be provided.

4:00-5:00 PM: Free time/Sign up for activities. You must return to your residence hall following the afternoon session and check in. Your RA will be there to hand out your mail. From there, you may check out to work on projects, participate in recreational activities, meet with students with similar interests, practice music, or just have some quiet time in your room. You should also check the dorm lobby to see descriptions of the activities being offered that night, and sign up for the one you are interested in.

4:30-6:00 PM: Dinner with your RA group. Dinner is served in the Cafeteria. You will be required to eat with your RA group. During this meal your RA will make any special announcements about evening activities, and you and other members of your group can touch base about the day's happenings.

6:00-7:00 PM: Study Hour. Study Hour is spent in your classroom. TAs will be there to answer questions. You may work on that night's assignment, or your TA may choose for your class to go to the library, computer lab, etc. Students will be required to attend study hall for an hour in the evening. Teaching assistants will be available for questions.

7:00-9:30 PM: Evening Activities. After Study Hour, you return to the dorm with your class. Then you may go to your seperate activities for that evening. Each evening the RA's will lead a variety of activities in which you may choose to participate (such as sports activities, films, dances, games, guest speakers, crafts, off-campus excursions, a talent show, and special interest seminars). Remember to be on time and in the right place for your activity if you signed up for one.

10:00 PM: Curfew. All students must be on their hall by 10:00 p.m. Be on your hall getting ready for bed. From 10:00-10:30 is quiet time that should be used for preparing for bed.

10:00-10:30 PM: Group quiet time. All students must be on their own hallway and in their own living group area.

10:30 PM: Lights out for younger students. You must be in your room with the lights out at 10:30 PM. No exceptions! Although at home you may be allowed to stay up later, your busy schedule here will require more rest. RAs will conduct bed checks proptly at 10:30 p.m. You must be in your own bed with your lights off. No late night study sessions. It will be morning before you know it!

11:00 PM: Lights out for older students. You must be in your room with the lights out at 10:30 PM. No exceptions! Although at home you may be allowed to stay up later, your busy schedule here will require more rest. RAs will conduct bed checks proptly at 10:30 p.m. You must be in your own bed with your lights off. No late night study sessions. It will be morning before you know it!
