Philanthropy is an important part of AOII.  Alpha Omicron Pi's international philanthropy is Arthritis Research.  Arthritis is a serious disease that affects women, children and men all over the world.  This painful disease has no known cure.  All AOII chapters worldwide help raise funds to help eliminate arthritis.  In years past, Kappa Chi has sponsored several fundraisers including an annual Rock-A-Thon and an event called Go to the Joint for Arthritis which "imprisoned" local citizens and had them raise enough funds for bail.

Locally, Kappa Chi Chapter sponsors a philanthropy project once a month.  Recently, AOII raised money for Head Start in a philanthropy called President for a Day.  Members of the fraternity sold raffles tickets so University students could win the chance to switch places with the University's president, Dr. Randall Webb.  Several AOIIs tutored students at a local elementary school to help them pass the LEAP test. Every month, the entire chapter throws a party for the local Boys and Girls Club.  The chapter has brought in hundreds of can goods to replenish the supply at the Natchitoches' Love and Care Mission.  Kappa Chi members have also brought in clothes to donate to the Girls Home and school supplies for the Boys & Girls Club.  Kappa Chi Chapter has won awards for Philanthropy projects during Recruitment for local organizations: they made Valentines for the nursing homes, crafts for the Boys & Girls club, IV covers for children in the hospital, and boo bunnies for local hospitals.

Not only does AOII participate in their own projects, but they support other projects with Panhellenic and other campus groups.  As part of exchanges with the fraternities on campus,  AOII threw a luau party for the Boys and Girls Club of Natchitoches with Theta Chi and cleaned up a highway with Sigma Nu.   Annually, they help Sigma Nu with their Senior Prom for a local nursing home.  For Panhellenic, they brought in canned goods, school supplies, movies and clothing for local charities.   Kappa Chi helped clean up the campus with NSU's environment awareness club.   AOII has supported many organizations on campus and in the community.
