The associate degree program is designed so students who finish the two-year program can easily continue in the four-year program if they so choose.

(1) Six hours of mathematics, nine hours of science, and four hours of health and personal fitness are prescribed in the university core requirements for the baccalaureate degree.

(2) Must meet university core requirements (English 2050, 2060, 2070, or 2080)

(3) Students interested in pursuing a baccalaureate degree in Criminal Justice should consider taking six hours of foreign language for six hours of electives.

(4) Students who plan to continue for a baccalaureate degree in Criminal Justice should consider taking two hours of health and personal fitness and physical education electives selected from the university core requirements.

Core Requirement Options for Criminal Justice

Mathematics core courses (6 hours taken in pairs and in sequence): Mathematics 1020 & 1060: 1020 & 1090; 1020 & 2010; 1100 (6 hrs.) or 1810 (6 hrs.)

Natural Sciences core courses (6 hours): three hours from Science 1010, Chemistry 1030, 1040, 1051, 1070, 1080 or 1091; Physics 2030-2031 or 2510-2511 and three hours from Science 1020, Biology 1010-1011, Zoology 1230-1231, or Microbiology 2060-2061.
