The associate degree program is designed so students who finish the two-year program can easily continue in the four-year program if they so choose.
Required for a major - CJ 1100, 2300, 2400, 2500, 3350, 3360, 3380, 4450, 4460,4500, 4480 & Sociology 3040, 3090, (37 semester hours).
Required for a minor - CJ 1100, 2300, 2400, 2500, & 9 hours of 3000 or 4000 level. Criminal Justice courses (21 semester hours)

(1) Must meet university core requirements (see options below).
(2) All six foreign language semester hours must be in the same foreign language.
Natural Sciences core courses (9 hours):
(3) Three hours from Science 1010, Chemistry 1030, 1040, 1031, 1041, 1070, 1080 or 1091; Physics 2030-2031 or 2510-2511.
(4) Three hours from Science 1020, Biology 1010-1011, Zoology 1230-1231, or Microbiology 2060-2061.
(5) Three hours from Science 2000, 2010, 2020 or 2030; Physics 1120; or any course that includes a laboratory in biology, botany, chemistry, geology, microbiology, physics, or zoology. (Certain combinations of science courses are not permitted. Refer to the list of Courses of Instruction in the General Catalog.)
Communications (9 hours):
(6) English 1010, 1020 and 3 hours chosen from ENGL 2050, 2060, 2070, 2080, 3210 or Speech 1010
Health and Personal Fitness core courses (4 hours):
(7) Health Education 1010 (2 hrs.), 1090 (2 hrs.); Physical Education 1110 (2 hrs.) OR Nutrition 1020 (2 hrs.), 1030 (3 hrs.), or 1050 (2 hrs.)
Mathematics core courses (6 hours taken in pairs and in sequence):
(8) Mathematics 1020 & 1060; 1020 & 1090; 1020 & 2010; 1100 (6 hrs.); 1810 (6 hrs.); or 2100 and 2110 (10 hours).
Social science core courses (9 hours):
(9) Three hours from History 1010, 1020, 2010, 2020. Six hours from Anthropology 1510, 2010; Economics 2010, 2000; Geography 1010, 1020, 2010; History 1010, 1020, 2010, 2020; Philosophy 1010, 1020; Political Science 2010, 2020; Psychology 1010; Sociology 1010.

You must have a 2.0 GPA for all hours pursued as well as in your major. To figure out your GPA, divide the total quality by the total hours you have taken. Quality points are calculated by multiplying the number of hours by 4 (for an A), 3 (for a B.), 2 (for a C.), 1 (for a D), or 0 (for and F.).
