Law Enforcement Officers who are employed full-time in a Criminal Justice Agency are eligible for a fee exemption for a portion of tuition (up to six hours per semester). Out-of-state students who are enrolled in courses via the Internet and not enrolled in on-campus classes, are exempt from paying out-of state fees. To qualify for the exemptions, download the application and follow the instructions below. Please note that the Scholarship Office will only accept applications 2 weeks prior to the beginning of each semester.
Instructions: 1. Fully complete and return application. 2. Attach the required documentation as described below. 3. Application should be received no more than two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester for which exemption is requested (See Schedule of Fees). Application for exemption is approved for one (1) semester from date of approval unless other period stated specifically.
Required Documentation: 1. Written documentation from the agency in which applicant is currently employed. Documentation must be on letter head from the agency applicant is employed by and must be signed by the agency department head. A short description of duties must also be included.
2. Fee exemptions will be available only to officers of the law. Students must be working toward a degree in criminal justice and maintain a semester 2.0 GPA.
