Bill is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, joining the NSU faculty fall of 2005.  Bill is a retired peace officer, beginning his law enforcement career with the State of Louisiana ’s Office of Parks and Recreation.   A 1984 graduate of the Louisiana State Police Academy , Bill worked in Louisiana as a Historic Site Manager and later as a deputy for the Moorehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office.  Moving to Texas , he worked for the Mineral Wells Police Department, first as a patrol officer and then as a Detective.  While working on his M.S. at the University of North Texas , he taught as an adjunct for Weatherford College in both their academic program and for their police academy.  He retired from MWPD in 1998 as a Detective Sergeant in order to begin teaching full-time.  After teaching for Lee College in Baytown , Texas and Weatherford College , Bill moved to Pineville , Louisiana where he taught Criminal Justice for Louisiana College for five years.

Bill is a native of Natchitoches and a graduate of Northwestern State University .  He lives with his wife, Jennifer, a NSU graduate student of Clinical Psychology and his children Grace, Faith, and James David.
