In July 2003, the Office of Carl D. Perkins Programs was reassigned within the University structure to the Office of Electronic and Continuing Education. This office may be reached at ece@nsula.edu.
About Perkins
The Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Act of 1998 provides funding for secondary and post-secondary vocational education programs. The Perkins Act of 1998 provides funding from 1998-2003, covering program years July 1, 1999 – June 30, 2004. A Continuing Resolution currently provides funding for July 1, 2005 – June 30, 2006.

The Office of Carl D. Perkins Programs at Northwestern State University is funded through the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998. The Federal Grant is allocated to the State of Louisiana through the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, which in turn regulates and makes allocations to post-secondary institutions with vocationally approved programs.

The High School Articulation Initiative provides several programs in which high schools can partner with Northwestern to provide students with opportunities to progress in their post-secondary education.
