This is a three-hour introduction to Blackboard "buttonology" for instructors. We will demonstrate the instructor tools in the Control Panel of a Blackboard course shell.
This course will address the changes and new features associated with Blackboards latest release. We will cover the changes to existing features as well as new features incorporated into this release.
Blackboard - Testing & Gradebook
This module will cover in depth areas in both gradebook and testing features. We will cover such subjects as preventing cheating, java strings, and automatic test creation.
The module will help instructors who only wish to use Blackboard as a supplement to a traditional class. For entry level users.
This module will allow instructors with questions regarding specific areas to come forward and have them answered.
NOTE: This session will be held in Room 122 of Russell Hall.

rubric based on standards and best practices. The
implementation of the Quality Matters rubric is currently a
state-wide initiative. In this workshop, presented by the
Office of Electronic and Continuing Education, you will learn more
about the rubric and how applying it can benefit your online

implement the standards in your online courses.
Web 2.0 is an online movement that makes use of community
applications that can be launched from any web browser anywhere that
you can get an Internet connection. This workshop will cover some of
the web applications and community tools that Web 2.0 encompasses.
Such tools will include, but not be limited to, Google Docs (online
office type application suite), Meebo (anywhere instant messenger
service), Wikis, Zamar (online file conversion service), and Media
Max (online file storage and file sharing suite). All the services
that are mentioned are free.
Instructional Resources for Teaching Online
This workshop will explore numerous FREE online instructional resources that can spice up your online courses. You will have opportunities to explore Learning Object Repositories, online tools for creating your own learning objects, and more.
GIMP Basics
GIMP is an open source, free, image manipulation program that is equivalent in feature sets to Adobe Photoshop. This workshop teaches users how to use GIMP to create image compositions as well as basic procedures.
