The
Digital Drop Box
The
Digital Drop Box page allows students to exchange files with the instructor.

Mistake
Students Make: Students stop after they "add" a file.
Students will receive this message:
"This
file will be added but NOT sent. In order to send the file, please use the
"Send File" button."
DO
NOT IGNORE THIS!
After the student has really
completed the process and the file has been sent students will see this message:
"Receipt: Success:
"name of file" has been sent to the instructor."
Until students get the "file has been sent to the instructor" message, the file has not been sent. Often students will see the file in the "drop box" folder and mistakenly assume that it has been sent properly.
NOTE: You do not have to ADD a file before you SEND a file. You can skip the first part and send the file to the instructor without first placing the file in your Drop Box area. (Show Me)
Tips:
Be sure that you send any Drop Box files in the format specified by the instructor.
Here are a few examples of commonly accepted file types:
.doc (Word)
.xls (Excel)
.gif (graphic)
.html or .htm (Web page)
.pdf (Adobe Acrobat)
.txt (text file)
Be careful when naming your files. Files with certain characters in their file names will not open in Blackboard. When saving your files on your computer, avoid using special characters.
One example of this is the pound (#) sign.
A file named paper#1.doc would not open in Blackboard.
