Sally E. Cook,
Ph.D., R.N., C.N.M.
Professor
College of Nursing
Dr. Cook
earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree in Nursing from Texas
Woman's University, and obtained a Certificate in
Nurse-Midwifery from University of Mississippi. Her varied
nursing experiences include medical/respiratory intensive care,
maternal-newborn, as well as full-scope nurse-midwifery
practice. Dr. Cook held a faculty position in the
Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology at LSU School of
Medicine-Shreveport prior to joining NSU. More recently,
Faculty practice has included providing care to women in a
low-income clinic. In addition to teaching various MSN and
Nurse Practitioner core courses via compressed video and the
Internet, Dr. Cook coordinates the Women's Health Nurse
Practitioner program.
This
endowed professorship will permit me to:

Attend a
national/regional conference relevant to the advanced nursing
practice management of Women's Health Care issues, problems and
concerns in order to update my clinical knowledge and skills
which will be shared with NP students.

Purchase
instructional and/or reference materials to support student and
clinical preceptor learning at WHNP student clinical sites, esp.
in central Louisiana.
