My undergraduate and graduate education was completed at Ohio State University with my doctorate in nursing from Texas Woman's University. I received a postmaster's certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Northwestern State University. Two sources of great satisfaction in my profession are the students (clinical education) and the clients (clinical practice). My research interests are in the areas of coping strategies and quality of life issues with clients who have chronic, debilitating conditions.

The endowed professorship will permit me to:

• enhance my nurse practitioner knowledge and skills through participation in a national nurse practitioner conference, and
• obtain equipment and reference materials for use in clinical practice with student and clients.
