Lissa Pollacia,

Lissa Pollacia received her Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1991 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana at Lafayette, and taught Computer Science and Computer Information Systems for NSU since that time. She has been instrumental in developing electronic learning courses and policies for NSU in the computing area. She has published papers in the area of Internet-based and e-learning at national and international conferences, and plans to conduct research on effective instructional techniques for Internet courses. Her other interests include database management and design, and visual programming.
Goals and objectives for the Bellsouth Endowed Professorship:
- Establish a forum/conference for online educators at NSU
- Conduct research in the area of electronic and Internet-based learning
- Promote the use of integrating technology in K-12 instruction
