Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Transfer students must meet the qualitative standards of satisfactory progress stated below to receive financial aid at NSU. Students must supply academic transcripts prior to enrollment at NSU. These transcripts are separate from the academic transcripts sent to the Registrar's Office and must be sent directly to the Financial Aid Office.  Transfer students will not be eligible for financial aid without a copy of the transcript from the last school that they attended.

  1/2 Time Student (6-8 hrs. attempted) 3   6   1.75
  Less than 1/2 Time (1-5 hrs. attempted) must earn all hours attempted 1.75
Students with 60 or more semester hours earned:      
  Full-Time Student (12 or more hrs. attempted) 12 24 2.00

Federal Student Aid will be provided for a maximum of:

Associate Degree - Two Year 90 credit hours attempted
* Bachelor Degree - Four Year 180 credit hours attempted
Bachelor Degree - Five Year 200 credit hours attempted
** Masters Degree 45 credit hours attempted
Ph. D. Program 60 credit hours attempted
Other Programs:
Certification beyond B.S. Degree 45 credit hours attempted
2nd Bachelors Degree 90 credit hours beyond 1st Bachelors
2nd Associate Degree 45 credit hours beyond 1st Associate
2nd Masters Degree 15 credit hours beyond 1st Masters
Associate Degree past Bachelors 45 credit hours beyond Bachelors

*Based on 120 hour degree program. The maximum limit shall be 180 credit hours attempted or 150% of the required hours for the degree program, whichever is greater.

** Based on 30 hour degree program.

Students in a degree program that requires more than 120 credit hours to complete that degree program may appeal for extended periods of entitlement.
