Associates Degree in General Studies The Associate of General Studies Degree (AGS) requires 63 credit hours. Beginning in the fall 2003 semester, the AGS degree plan will require the following core curriculum courses totaling 31 credit-hours:

Required Core Classes (6 hours)
English 1010 and 1020 (6 hours)
Fine Arts 1040 (and other core humanities*) (6 hours)
Mathematics 1020 (and other core mathematics*) (6 hours)
Natural Sciences (6 hours)
Orientation 1010 (1 hour)
Social Sciences (6 hours)

In addition to the core requirements, the AGS degree requires 18 credit-hours in a selected group of concentration and 9 credit-hours in each of the two selected groups of enrichment electives.
