Herman V. Gonzales, Sr.

Isleño Guitar Musician

Herman Gonzales was born in Merauxville, Louisiana in 1929. He now resides in Chalmette, Louisiana with his wife, Antonia. He is also the proud father of three sons and one girl. Herman is currently the National Park Maintenance Work Leader.

Herman first began to play guitar at the age of sixteen. He learned to play through self-determination and self-discipline. Herman belongs to the band "Canary Island Descendents Association." They have performed for the Isleño Festival, Crippled Children's Event, Worlds Fair, Weddings, and Anniversaries.
