Mr. J.C. Meyers is a lifelong resident of Livingston, Louisiana, where he lives with his wife Alvie E. Meyers. J. C. is retired but spends a lot of his spare time playing with the Driskill Mountain Boys.
J. C. learned to play music at home and church at the age of six or seven. His uncle George Laflin was an important influence at home. Mr. Meyers plays the banjo, mandolin & guitar; and also repairs and builds musical instruments of all kinds.
Mr. Meyers has toured in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Indiana with the Driskill Mountain Boys. Public appearances and performances with the band include the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans, Louisiana Heritage Festival, and the Blue Grass Festival.
