African-French are a distinct group who live in Southwest Louisiana. They are similar in culture to both Cajuns and Creoles, but should not be confused with either group. They are generally credited with creating Zydeco music, a spicy, drum and accordion-based music that may be one of Louisiana's most recognizable traditions.
