How Do I filter junk e-mail?

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. On the Preferences tab, under E-mail, click Junk E-mail.

3. Choose the level of junk e-mail protection you want.

4. Click Add.

5. In the Enter an e-mail address or Internet domain name to be added to the list box, enter the name or address you want added, and then click OK.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each name or address that you want to add.

How Do I open an Archived Folder?

1. In Outlook 2003, on the File menu, point to Open, and then click Outlook Data File.
2. In the Open Outlook Data File dialog box, locate the file, click the file, and then click OK.

 

How Do I add another person's calendar to the Navigation Pane?

1. In Calendar, in the Navigation Pane, click Open a Shared Calendar.
2. Note If the Navigation Pane is turned off, on the View menu, click Navigation Pane.
3. Type the other person's name, or click Name to browse the Address Book, and then select the name from the list.
4. Click OK.
5. If you have been granted permissions, the other person's calendar will open in the side-by-side calendar view

 

How Do I enable Calendar Notifications?

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Other tab, and then click Advanced Options.
3. Click Reminder Options.
4. Select or clear the Display the reminder check box.
If you display reminders, select or clear the Play reminder sound check box, and then, if you want, enter the path of a sound file.

 

How Do I set my Contacts to show up first in the Address Book?

1. On the Standard toolbar, click Address Book .
2. In the Address Book dialog box, on the Tools menu, click Options.
3. In the Show this address list first list, click Contacts.
4. Click OK.
5. The second option allows you to quickly change to show another address book without changing the default you just set.
6. On the Standard toolbar, click Address Book .
7. In the Address Book dialog box, click the Show names from the list to pick an address book other than Contacts.
8. Look up the name you need, and then close the Address Book dialog box.
9. If you open the Address Book again, the Address Book displays Contacts as the default setting.

 

How Do I Create a Personal Folders file (.pst file) in Microsoft Outlook?

1. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Outlook Data File.
2. In the Types of storage area, click Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst) to create a new Outlook 2003 .pst file. Click Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders File (.pst) to create a new Outlook .pst file that is compatible with earlier versions of Outlook.
3. Click OK.
4. Use the default Outlook folder location, or you can locate a different folder location.
5. In the File name box, type a name for the new .pst file, or you can use the default name. Click OK.
6. In the Name box, type a title for the .pst file, or you can use the default title of Personal Folders. The title that you enter in the Name box is the name that is used on the Outlook 2003 All Mail Folders list, and it is applied to any shortcuts that are made for the .pst file on the Outlook Bar. You can also select an encryption setting and a password for the .pst file. After you select the settings that you want, click OK.

Note You cannot change the encryption setting after you create the .pst file. For more information about the encryption settings, see the "Security settings for .pst files" section in this article.
7. The new .pst file is added to the Outlook 2003 All Mail Folders list. To view the Folder List, click Folder List on the Go menu.

 

How Do I Backup My Outlook Email?

1. On the File menu, Click Import and Export.
2. Click Export To File, and then click Next.
3. In "Create a file of type" click "Personal Folder File (.pst)", and click Next.
4. In "Select the folder to export from", click the folder you want to export. Click to select Include Subfolders if it applies, and then click Next.
5. In "Save exported file as" click Browse to select the location of the PST to receive the data you are exporting, or type the path and file name, and then click Next.
6. Click Finish.

 

How Do I Compact My Mailbox?

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Mail.
3. Click Data Files.
4. Click the .pst file that you want to compress, and then click Settings.
5. Click Compact Now.

 

How Do I Open A Personal Folder (.pst folders) File?

1. On the File menu, point to Open, and then click Outlook Data File.
2. Click the .pst file you want to open, and then click OK.
3. The name of the folder associated with the data file appears in the Folder List. To view the Folder List, on the Go menu, click Folder List. By default, the folder will be called Personal Folders.

6. From the Global Address list select the user to grant access to

9. Select the user that was just added
10. Under Permissions, select the Permission Level that you would like to grant to the user.
11. Click Ok

 

How Do I Put An Outlook Icon On My Desktop?

1. Click Start – Programs – Microsoft Office

2. Navigate to Microsoft Outlook 2003

3. Right Click on the Icon

4. Go Down to Send To

5. Click Desktop Create Shortcut.

 


How Do I Setup Outlook 2003 To Send & Receive NSU E-mail?

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2003

2. Add Mail Account
3. Server Type – Select Microsoft Exchange Server
4. Exchange Server Settings
a. Microsoft Exchange Server (Faculty) – exchbackend1.nsula.edu
b. Microsoft Exchange Server (Staff) – exchbackend2.nsula.edu

5. Uncheck the box for Use Cached Exchange Mode
6. Enter you User Name in the box provided (i.e. smithz)
7. Click Check Name – Your full name should be displayed with an underline if the information was entered correctly.
8. Click Next to complete the mail setup wizard

 

*If you cannot get to the setup wizard by double clicking on the Microsoft Outlook Icon, try the following:

1. Click Start

2. Settings

3. Control Panel

4. Open the Mail Icon

5. Click E-mail Accounts

6. Select Add New E-Mail Account

7. Start from #3 on the instructions above
