Minutes of meeting, 12/13/99

Dr. Anthony Scheffler called the meeting to order on Monday, December 13, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. in Kyser Hall, room 429.

Chairperson or a group member represented all groups. At this time score sheets were calculated and grant proposals was rated. All grant proposals were funded with the exceptions to the following:

#7 Sonya Yandell/Student Support - Multimedia Lab for "at risk" students

A motion was made by Dr. Martin Rudd if the grant was funded to delete the printer $1406.00 and DXTV 400 MHz $3119.00, motion 2^nd by Deron Thaxton, the motion carried.

#10 Perry Francis/TEC - Laptop/InFocus – the question was asked about student accessibility, Dr. Bob Gillan stated the unit would be housed in the TEC multimedia resource center, room 112.

#11 Ron McBride/TEC - Digital Imaging Technology – the question was asked about student accessibility, Dr. Bob Gillian stated the unit would be housed in the TEC multimedia resource center, room 112.

#12 Alvin Brossette/Continuing Education – ProShare Video system – A motion was made by Dr. Bob Gillan to set a deadline for the T1 line to be prepared/installed by March 15, 2000 or the grant proposal would not be funded, 2^nd by Deron Thaxton, the motion carried.

#14 John Foster/Language - Speech Equipment (committee questioned the three cameras) a motion was made by Dr. Martin Rudd for Dr. Foster to rework the grant proposal to include less equipment (one complete unit) and to be handed in by 1/31/00, the motion was 2^nd by Dr. Bob Gillan., the motion carried.

#28 S. Dyson/TEC – Learning Plus software – A motion was made by Dr. Bob Gillan for the grant proposal to be approved conditionally to include a new implentation plan and must be received by 1/31/00, the motion was 2^nd by Juanita Darby, the motion carried.

Grant Proposals Not Funded

#16 J. Murrell/Shreveport – Computer CD duplicator – Questions were asked about the accessibility and usage by students. The idea about a web page was discussed for the purpose in which they are seeking funding for. Motion was made to deny grant proposal by Juanita Darby, the motion was 2^nd by Deron Thaxton, the motion carried.

#17 D. Sinclair/Social Sciences – Scanner – question about student accessibility and usage was talked about and a motion was made to deny the grant proposal by Dr. Martin Rudd and 2^nd by Deron Thaxton, the motion carried.

#23 Pat Pierson/FACS – Copier – question about student accessibility and usage, Dr. Susan White said she spoke to Mrs. Pierson and FACS was going to provide all paper and toner. A motion was made to deny this grant proposal by Dr. Bob Gillan and 2^nd by Deron Thaxton, the motion carried.

Motion was made by Dr. Bob Gillan to fund all grant proposals with changes to be made within the time frame, motion 2^nd by Deron Thaxton, the motion carried.
