Membership

Membership: The membership represents a wide range of educations and professionals, including teachers of geography, history, and social studies, but clearly not excluding any subject or profession. Geographic concepts have relavance to all fields of learning, on all education levels, and can be integrated into any curriculum. The alliance has members from the ranks of:

• elementary and secondary education
• school board members and administrators
• universities and community colleges
• state and local government
• parents

Invitation to Join: If you would like to assist in the cultivation of an increased interest in the study of geography at the elementary and secondary level and/or wish to support the improvement of the geography teaching skills and increasing the resources available to help our teachers to better present geography topics, please download and return the application form. When you join:

• You will receive our newsletter.
• You will receive a list of committees you can join.
• As a member, you will have a vote in the election of our officers and committee chairpersons.
• Eight ($8.00) dollars of your dues will be placed in a fund that will be available for small grants to members.
• You will receive additional classroom teaching units, information of new materials and available grants from the National Geographic Society and the National Geographic Bee.
• Loan educational geographic videos.
