FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES- The Northwestern State University Alumni Association's Annual Fund drive is underway. Gifts to the annual fund assure membership in the Alumni Association, enable NSU to attract quality students and faculty, enhance many aspects of campus life and aid the Association in supporting the university and its mission.

Through funds collected during last year's drive, the Alumni Association hosted several reunions, local chapter programs, Grad Fest, Homecoming activities and faculty recognition awards and provided scholarships for NSU students. The Alumni Association played a major role in student recruitment activities by hosting recruiting receptions throughout Louisiana and Texas.

Pledges to the Alumni Association can be made monthly or quarterly with several different giving levels available. Some donors work for companies with matching gift programs, allowing them to double or triple their contributions. Credit card billing is available and all gifts are tax deductible.

Donors can contact the Alumni Center at NSU for information on endowing a scholarship, designating funds to a specific program or college, contributing to the "For A Brighter Tomorrow" Capital Campaign or providing for NSU in a will.

"Continued growth in membership is essential to the Association's success," Dr. Chris Maggio, Director of Alumni and Development, said. "All gifts to the Alumni Association are important and have an impact."

For more information, contact the Office of Alumni Affairs at (318) 357-4414 or (888) 799-6486 or e-mail Maggio at maggioc@nsula.edu.
