NATCHITOCHES- Students from Northwestern placed in two categories in competition at the Association of Information Technology Professionals Region 3 Conference held at Texas Tech University.

The team of Michael Callac of Slidell and Johnathan Sexton of Fort Polk placed fourth in COBOL while the team of Andrew Barker of Baker and Jeremy Wilmot of Zwolle received an honorable mention. The teams of Tan Vo of Harvey and Jack Givens of Natchez, La., and Terrill Pitts of Natchitoches and Donta Wright of Fort Polk received an honorable mention in Visual BASIC. NSU was the only Louisiana institution to place in the competition.

AITP is a professional organization organized in the 1950's which offers opportunities for Information Technology (IT) leadership and education through partnerships with industry, government and academia. AITP provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals. Region 3 AITP is a six state area which includes Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Mississippi.

Professor of Business Dr. Jack Russell and Instructor of Business Barbara Russell sponsored the students.
