NATCHITOCHES -A group of computer information systems students from Northwestern State University recently attended the Association of Information Technology Professionals Region 3 Student Conference held in Abilene, Texas.
Attending were John Norris of Shreveport, Tonya Coleman of Fort Polk, Will Jeter of Jena, Beth Anderson of Natchitoches, Kedric Wood of Alexandria and Mark Delahoussaye of Jeanerette.
Anderson and Delahoussaye earned third place in the Database contest. Coleman and Jeter placed 4th in the Visual BASIC.NET contest.
The NSU AITP Student Chapter was recognized as the Outstanding Student Chapter in Region 3, a six state region including Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mississippi. This is the fourth consecutive year Northwestern's chapter has earned this distinction. The Outstanding Region award places the chapter in consideration for the National Outstanding Student Chapter award which NSU won last year.
