FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES- The psychological thriller "Angel Street" will be presented by the NSU Theatre April 8-9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Loft Theatre in Room 209 of the Old Wing of the A.A. Fredericks Center for Creative and Performing Arts. Admission is by invitation only due to limited seating. Dr. Jack Wann is the director.

"Angel Street" is by Patrick Hamilton and is written in a style associated with Alfred Hitchcock, according to Wann. The play tells the story of the Manninghams who live on Angel Street. Mr. Manningham is using the guise of kindness to drive her to insanity. He accuses her of petty aberrations that he has arranged and since Mrs. Manningham's mother died of insanity, she is convinced that she is going out of her mind.

While her husband is out of the house, a police inspector visits her. With the help of the Manningham's servant Elizabeth and maid Nancy, the inspector proves to Mrs. Manningham that her husband is a maniacal criminal who committed a murder 15 years ago in the same house and is preparing to dispose of her. They then begin to uncover the evidence against Mr. Manningham.

The cast is Wanetah Walmsley of Leesville as Mrs. Manningham, Levi Petree of Youngsville as Mr. Manningham, Alicia Schulz of Metairie as Nancy, Heather Smith of Gretna as Elizabeth and Larry Soileau of Lake Charles as Inspector Rough.

Josh Laird of Oakdale is assistant director and men's understudy; Sarah Jessica Rhodes of Rusk, Texas is stage manager and understudy for Nancy. Mandy Ward of Lake Charles is assistant stage manager and understudy for Mrs. Manningham and Elizabeth.
