FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES-A Summer Arts and Crafts Workshop for Children will be offered by Northwestern State University's Office of Electronic and Continuing Education this summer.
A workshop for children age six through nine will be on June 14-18 and June 21-25 in Room 109 of the Old Wing of the A.A. Fredericks Center for Creative and Performing Arts. Emily Gianforte is the instructor.
Projects are geared toward this age group and are designed to begin an interest in art with a minimal emphasis on skill and technique. The projects include potato prints, line drawing activities, experiments with color, texture projects and magazine art. Gianforte said the children will have fun doing the projects and will learn interesting techniques they can re-create on their own.
The fee for the class is $45 plus a $10 material fee.
A class for children age 10 through 13 will be offered later this summer.
