FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES-The Louisiana Addiction Technology Transfer Center Coordinating Center at Northwestern State University (LAATTCCC@NSU) has received a grant of $22,000 from The Gulf Coast Addiction Technology Center at the University of Texas.
The LAATTCCC@NSU is under the direction of Dr. Patrice Moulton and Joseph D. "Jody" Biscoe. According to Biscoe, the grant is a continuation of funding from the Gulf Coast Addiction Technology Transfer Center for educational and training efforts within Louisiana.
"This grant will allow us to support our continuing national
presence for proactive and positive changes of knowledge, skills,
and attitudes to the addictions counseling professionals throughout
Louisiana," said Biscoe.
In its initial year, the Center co-sponsored the first Louisiana
Research to Practice Conference along with the Louisiana Office
of Addictive Disorders and the Gulf Coast Addiction Technology
Transfer Center. Two three-day sessions brought together administrators
and clinicians to enhance their understanding of how to apply
the latest research in their work. Several nationally known speakers
shared their work with participants from throughout Louisiana.
