FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES - Two classrooms in Bienvenu Hall at Northwestern State University will soon have a new look thanks to assistance from four Natchitoches-area banks. The Bank of Montgomery, City Bank and Trust Co., Exchange Bank and Trust Co. and People's State Bank have made donations to the NSU Foundation to assist Northwestern's Department of Psychology.
The donations will help provide new equipment for two classrooms which have not been renovated since Bienvenu Hall opened in 1970.
"We consider this as an investment in the community," said Jim Pierson, senior vice president of City Bank. "Northwestern and its people are good customers and an important part of the community. We are glad to help the Department of Psychology in this way."
According to Dr. Patrice Moulton, head of the Department of Psychology, the donations will help provide new desks and chalkboards for the classrooms.
"These renovations will help create a better learning environment for our students," she said. "The learning environment is directly related to the quality of the academic experience and the student's ability to learn. We appreciate the willingness of these banks to assist us as we work to strengthen our program."
