NATCHITOCHES- Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternities at Northwestern State University will host a joint American musical "Celebrate America" Friday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. The concert is also sponsored by the Mrs. H.D. Dear Sr. and Alice E. Dear School of Creative and Performing Arts.

Those attending will receive patriotic momentos and can enter drawings for door prizes.

"Both Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternities strive to further music in America and throughout the community. We would like to honor those who have served our country and celebrate the freedom we have in our great nation," said Sigma Alpha Iota Music Chairman Mel Richey. "The music fraternities hope to unite the Natchitoches community in this event through patriotic music and educate those who attend about the history of many traditional patriotic tunes such as the National Anthem and the playing of Taps. "

The musicale will feature cadets from NSU's ROTC program, readings by Coordinator of Music Tony Smith, faculty member Michael Rorex on piano and Galindo Rodriguez and Andrew Goodrich on trumpet. The concert will also feature the Sigma Alpha Iota
And Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia chorus, NSU student Randy Cantu of McAllen, Texas, on piano, the Sigma Alpha Iota Woodwind Quintet and the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Barbership Quintet.
Patriotic drawings from Marthaville Jr. High music students will also be on display.
