NATCHITOCHES - A group of computer informations systems majors from Northwestern State University placed in three categories at the 15th Annual Programming Contest & Symposium held at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.

The students swept the competition in Visual BASIC as the team of Linda Bourgault of Alexandria and Kristi Maynor of Natchitoches finished first. Marina Barakova of Pazardjik, Bulgaria and Michael Callac of Slidell were second followed by the team of Xiao Chen of Shanghai, China and Lily Kusljic of Banjaluka, Bosnia in third.

In Access (Microsoft database), Anna Cecrle of Shreveport and Maynor finished second while Chen and Kusljic were third. Wade Johnson of Pitkin was an honorable mention finisher.

The team of Callac and Kusjlic were second in COBOL.

Northwestern computer information systems faculty Jack Russell, Barbara Russell and David Zolzer accompanied the students to the competition.
