NATCHITOCHES - Northwestern State University will hold its annual Criminal Justice Career Day Friday, April 6 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Friedman Student Union Lobby. The Career Day is sponsored by NSU's Department of Social Sciences.
More than 20 local, parish, state and federal agencies and
private companies have signed up to participate. Many of the agencies
are looking to hire graduates from any major.
"This Job Fair is designed to introduce students to the
workplace and assist them as they look for employment after graduation,"
said NSU Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Joe Morris. "We
have a variety of participants representing some outstanding agencies.
All NSU students could benefit by dropping by and chatting with
some of the representatives."
Participating agencies include: the U.S. Customs Service, Immigration
and Naturalization Service, Arlington (Texas) Police Department,
Dallas County Community Supervision, Natchitoches District Probation
and Parole, Louisiana Department of Corrections, Carrolton (Texas)
Police Department, Southern University Law Center, Louisiana Community
Policing Institute, Irving (Texas) Police Department, Caddo Parish
Sheriff's Office and the Overland Park (Kan.) Police Department.
Other participants include: the U.S. Probation Office, Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, Dallas Police Department, Louisiana State Police, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, United States Marshall Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Chicago Police Department and the Texarkana (Texas) Police Department.
