FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES -The Northwestern State University Office of Electronic and Continuing Education will offer a summer arts and crafts workshop for children.

Three different sessions will be offered for two separate age groups. Young artists will create artwork, learn about artists and gain an understanding of how and why art is made. Participants will create colorful "masterpieces" as young artists, stretching their skills and imaginations in this hands-on introduction to an array of real artists' materials and techniques.

Classes for ages 5-7 will be held June 20-24, July 4-8 and July 18-22. Classes for ages 8-10 will be held June 27-July 1, July 11-15 and July 25-29. The classes will be held from 1-4 p.m. in Room 109 of the Creative and Performing Arts Building. Melissa Melder Reese will be the instructor. The fee for the class is $45 plus a $10 supply fee to be paid directly to the instructor.
