NATCHITOCHES- Dr. Janina Darling of the University of California, Santa Cruz, will present a lecture at Northwestern State University Thursday, April 18 at 6 p.m. in the Cane River Room of the Friedman Student Union. Darling will discuss villas and homes of the Roman Emperor Augustus and his family. Admission is free and open to the public.

Darling is a specialist in ancient Mediterranean art history with an emphasis on Roman art and has a secondary field in Italian Renaissance and Baroque art. She was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to study art history in Rome. Her education was at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Illinois, where she received her Ph.D.
