FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES It will be an evening of polyester leisure suits and disco balls when the Northwestern Summer Theatre performs the murder mystery Death by Disco beginning July 13.

Death by Disco will run on July 13-16, 20-23 and 27-30 in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20, which includes dinner and the show. Scott Burrell is the director.

The show is a 1970's dance party murder mystery in which the audience gets involved. The mystery was written and conceived by Jim Dabb, who operates several dinner theaters on the East coast and has written about 30 different plays, which are performed in the dinner theatre.

Audience members will solve a comedy mystery while enjoying a four-course dinner. The meal is served at your table by a zany cast of characters who all the while are providing clues to help you solve the evening's crime. Members of the audience receive bribe money to entice the "suspects" to provide you with better clues along with a clue dossier which contains riddles and puzzles you will need to decipher to be eligible for a "Super Sleuth" prize.

"The play is a satire of movies like Saturday Night Fever with a lot of stereotypical characters," said Burrell. "It has a lot of one liners, a couple of dance numbers and music from the disco era."

The cast is Royal Hampton III of Marrero as the Boogie Man, Kent Bernard of New Iberia as Tony Moroni, Allison Hill of Natchitoches as Kathleen O' Reilly, Stacey England of Bossier City as Angela Moroni, Kyle Accord of Chesterfield, Mo., as Theresa Maria Garcia, Eric Duhon of Grand Lake as Wally Papo and Mickie Marie of New Iberia as Vincent.
