NATCHITOCHES- A chapter of Epsilon Delta Pi, an international honor society in the computing sciences, was recently chartered at Northwestern State University. The Alpha Pi chapter at NSU completed its first year and received its charter which was presented to Dr. Joel Worley by charter president Tina Mouton of Natchitoches.

Computer information systems majors and minors with an overall grade point average of 3.0 and a 3.25 average in CIS are eligible for induction. Members must maintain their average lthroughout their college careers.

Epsilon Delta Pi began with 20 student charter members in the fall of 2002. Those members included Kirsten Allen of Atlanta, La. Andy Baragona of Slidell, Marina Barakova and Chelette Thomas of Shreveport , Linda Bourgault and Monica Partney of Alexandria, Joseph Brakhage of Minden, Felicia Bray of Leesville, Johnny Byone of Cloutierville and Michael Callac of Slidell.

Also joining as charter members were Mouton, Jeannie Campbell, Heather Johnson, Begona Perez-Mira, Rusty Teague and Tan Vo, all of Natchitoches, Lily Kusljic of Panama City, Fla., Curtis Penrod of Robeline, Dori Pfister of Donaldsonville and Johnathan Sexton of Fort Polk. Pfister served as vice president and Brakhage was secretary-treasurer.

New members admitted during the spring 2003 semester were: Erick Beechum of DeBerry, Texas, Cole Everage of Lake Charles, Terry Gatson of Shreveport, Shanna Marshall and Trey Staley of Natchitoches, Chris Pearson of Epps and Sarah Wiley of Jonesville.

New members admitted during the fall 2003 semester were: Brandy Bourgoyne, William Ellis , Kelli Fontana, Brooke Jenkins and Chad Vicknair of Natchitoches, Kelly Ellis of Berwick, Kelly Mckenzie of Homer and Josh Spillers of Ruston.

Wiley will be president of Elsilon Delta Phi for the 2003-2004 academic year while Brandy Bourgoyne will be vice president and Brakhage will serve as secretary-treasurer. Barbara Russell is the faculty sponsor.
