NATCHITOCHES -The Creole Heritage Center at Northwestern State University in conjunction with St. Augustine Catholic Church will host the final exhibition of a series of oil paintings by Artist Gilbert D. Fletcher Documenting the Cane River Creole Legacy and present the film The Spirit of a Culture: Cane River Creoles May 13-14.

The exhibit will be held Saturday, May 13, from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday, May 14, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the St. Augustine Catholic Church Hall, 2250 Hwy 484, Natchez, Louisiana. This exhibit is the result of an agreement between the Creole Heritage Center and Fletcher to document the Cane River National Heritage Area through a collection of oil paintings. The art features historical places, people and families of the Cane River Creole community. The presentation of this project is funded in part by a grant from the Cane River National Heritage Area.
