FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES-The Office of Electronic and Continuing Education at Northwestern State University will sponsor a non-credit class on "Basic Grant Writing" Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Room 217 of Russell Hall. Bettye Ludd is the instructor. The fee for the class is $125.

The objectives of the course are to take the fear, mystique and intimidation out of preparing and writing a grant; show participants how to obtain confidence through in-depth, organized relevant research; demonstrate the indispensable role of networking to insure success in obtaining foundation, government and corporate funds and inspire participants to take the next important step toward securing money for their organization via grant writing.

Benefits of the course include learning how to turn ideas into fundable projects; discovering where the money is and creating a strong proposal. Other benefits include copying actual samples to use with your grant package and securing money to implement and help maintain special projects.

Ludd has been a fundraiser for two U.S. presidents, mayors of several major cities and non-profit agencies.

For more information or to sign up, contact NSU's Office of Electronic and Continuing Education at (318) 357-5682, (318) 357-6355, (800) 376-2422 or (866) 318-3678.
