NATCHITOCHES -Nikki Ceaser of Natchitoches was named queen of the 2006 Homecoming Honor Court at Northwestern State University. Malcolm Bihm of Baton Rouge was named king of the honor court. The 20-member honor court will participate in activities during Homecoming Week at NSU and will be presented at halftime the Homecoming game between NSU and Texas State on Saturday, Oct. 28.

The court also includes: Natasha Bennett, Morgan Cedars, Lindsay Maggio and Jessica Pitcher of Natchitoches, Mia Poullard of Morse, Megan Scruggs of Joaquin, Texas, Latory Davis of Winnfield, Krystal Gipson of Shreveport and LaKeisha Gray of Bernice.

Also named to the court were: Reed Thomas of Kelly, Christopher Simon of Baton Rouge, Waylon Metoyer and Blaine Clemons of Natchitoches, Brandon Tipton of Shreveport, Cody Newsom of Mount Vernon, Texas, Sherman Desselle of Alexandria and Tazmin Ivey and Isiah Boyd of New Orleans.

Ceaser is a senior business administration major and is the daughter of Roy and Isabelle Ceaser. A graduate of Natchitoches Central High, she is an honor roll student. Ceaser is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, serving as treasurer and chair of the budget committee. She is a member of the Demon Sweethearts and Order of Eastern Star. Ceaser was a freshman connector, an FYI facilitator and a Walt Disney World campus representative.

Bennett is a junior biology major. She is the daughter of Rita and Second Lieutenant James Bennett. A graduate of Leesville High School, she is speaker of the Student Government Association Senate. Bennett is an anchor and producer for NSU 22. She has been a freshman connector and is a member of Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. She was the 2005 winner of the Miss Black and Gold Pageant.

Cedars is the daughter of Roy and Mickey Cedars. She is a graduate of Natchitoches Central High. A senior business administration major, Cedars is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, serving as executive vice president. She is an FYI facilitator, a freshman connector and a NSU ambassador. Cedars has also been a member of the Purple Pizazz Pom Pon Line.

Davis is the daughter of Larry T. Davis Sr. and Ophelia S. Davis. She is a graduate of Winnfield Senior High School. Davis has been a member of NSU's Residential Life staff for three years and has been a Dean's List student. She is hall director for Boozman Hall and was first runner up and People's Choice winner in the Miss Black and Gold Pageant.

Gipson is a senior criminal justice major. She is the daughter of Florida Gipson and Ricky Gipson. A graduate of Booker T. Washington High, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. Gipson is president of the Future Black Law Students Association. A Dean's List student, she is a member of Blue Key and the Order of Omega.

Gray is the daughter of Victor S. Gray and Ruby A. Emerson. She is a senior criminal justice major. Gray is a graduate of Bernice High. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Purple Jackets, Blue Key and the African-American Caucus. Gray is a Dean's List student and a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Maggio is a junior business administration major. She is the daughter of Mark and Lanie Adkins and the late Samuel Ross Maggio, Jr. A graduate of St. Mary'sHigh, she is a President's List student. Maggio is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, the Student Activities Board, Blue Key and Purple Jackets. She has served as a freshman connector.

Pitcher is a junior history major. She is the daughter of Jack and Emma Pitcher. A graduate of Natchitoches Central High, she is a President's List student. Pitcher is president of Purple Jackets and is a member of the Student Activities Board. She is a member of Convergence College Ministries and was a freshman connector. Pitcher has been accepted into the International Student Exchange Program for study in France this spring.

Poullard is the daughter of Marcal and Shella Poullard. She is a graduate of Midland High School. A senior biology major, Poullard is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Purple Jackets and Blue Key. She is also a member of Mu Epsilon Delta Medical Organization, Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society and the Order of Omega.

Scruggs is a senior biology major. She is the daughter of Richard and Wanda Scruggs. A graduate of Joaquin High School, Scruggs is a Dean's List student. She is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and Purple Jackets. Scruggs has been a member of the Student Activities Board. She was an NSU cheerleader, an FYI facilitator, a Presidential Ambassador and member of Mu Epsilon Delta.

Bihm is a senior computer information systems major. He is the son of Curley and Ernest Bihm and is a graduate of Glen Oaks High. Bihm was vice president of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and a member of Blue Key and the Association of Information Technology Professionals. He was named the Alpha Phi Alpha State Brother of the Year. He has also been a President's List and Dean's List student.

Boyd is a graduate of Sarah Reed High. He is the son of Geraldine Collins. A senior business administration major, Boyd is president of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He is a member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and Helping Hands.

Clemons is a junior health and exercise science major. He is the son of Stanley and Pam Clemons. A graduate of Natchitoches Central High School, Clemons is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and president of Convergence College Ministries. He is a member of the Interfraternity Council and served as a freshman connector.

Desselle is a senior general studies major. He is the son of Paul Desselle, Jr. and Thelma Desselle. A graduate of Peabody Magnet High School, he is music director of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity, vice president of the D.E.E.P. Poet Society and lead singer for the Entertainers. Desselle is a former member of the Shreveport Opera Chorus. He is hall director for Varnado Hall.

Ivey is a junior business administration major. He is the son of Tonya Ivey. A graduate of McMain High School, Ivey is president of NSU's chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. He is a President's List student and has been an FYI facilitator and a member of Helping Hands.

Metoyer is a junior business administration major and the son of Vincent and Mary Metoyer. He is a graduate of Natchitoches Central High. Metoyer is president of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He is a member of Helping Hands and the Order of Omega. Metoyer is an honor roll student.

Newsom is the son of Rodney Newsom and Karen Newsom. He is a senior pre-physical therapy major. Newsom is a graduate of Mount Vernon High. He was a member of the NSU track team for two years. Newsom is a Dean's List student. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Order and the Student Activities Board and was a freshman connector.

Simon is the son of Michael and Cherita Simon. He is a senior business administration major. Simon is a graduate of Lee High School. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and is a NPHC senior delegate. Simon is also a member of the NSU chapter of the NAACP.

Thomas is a senior electrical engineering technology major. He is the son of Rev. Keith and Mary Thomas. A graduate of Caldwell Parish High, he has been a President's List student. Thomas has been a member of the NSU Choir for three years and was a Presidential Ambassador.

Tipton is a senior biology/nursing major and is the son of Timothy and Leslie Tipton. He is a graduate of Byrd High. He is a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and has served as president and vice president of the Student Activities Board. Tipton was a lead connector with the Freshman Connection program. He is a member of Blue Key and Order of Omega and has been a President's List and Dean's List student.
