NATCHITOCHES-A Professional in Human Resource Management Certificate Course will be offered by Northwestern State University's Department of Continuing Education beginning Saturday, Jan. 11.

The course will be taught on alternating Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. through April 19 at the University Center at England Airpark in Alexandria. Jeff Risinger will be the instructor. The fee for the class is $350 plus a $395 supply fee.

The course is designed to provide participants with an overview of key areas in human resource management. Materials include six modules that correspond to the six functional areas, responsibilities and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute. Those completing the course will receive a Certificate in Professional Human Resources and 3.0 continuing education units.

Among those who can benefit from the course are: human relations practitioners seeking professional development to enhance or advance their career, experienced managers new to the human resource field, other mid-level managers pursuing career change or promotion or human relations professionals planning to take the PHR or SPHR certification exams.
