FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES-Northwestern State University's Office of Electronic and Continuing Education will offer a class in kenpo karate beginning Tuesday May 18. The course will be taught until Aug. 5 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in Room 127 of the Health and Human Performance Building.

Kenpo karate teaches how to maneuver so that the opponent is unwittingly placed in a vulnerable position. It employs kicks, punches, blocks, judo, throws, locks, takedowns and more. According to instructor Bruce Adams, kenpo karate can help develop coordination, discipline and self-confidence.

Each age group will be divided into advanced and beginners. The fee for the course is $65 for children and $75 for adults.
