NATCHITOCHES- The Natchitoches/NSU Folk Festival will hold more than fun and games at this year's KidFest. Children of all ages will enjoy an educational experience focused on the United States Military, which will be honored during the 23rd annual event on July 19-20.
On Friday, July 19 an educational session about military uniforms will be available for children. Military personnel will be on hand to discuss their uniforms. Children are also encouraged to attend the flag handling and disposal presentation which is scheduled for 2:05 on Friday.
KidFest will once again provide a place for children to show off their yo-yoing, jump rope games, and spoon racing skills. Other fun games such as three-legged races, string games, and others will be held.
Events begin Friday, July 19 at noon and Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. A two-day all-event pass will sell for $12 and $5 for children age 7-12. The all-event pass must be purchased before the Festival. Tickets for individual days are $7 and $3 for children; children under 6 are admitted for free. Evening passes are $5 after 6 p.m. each day and $3 for children.
