NATCHITOCHES -Research conducted by Dr. Margaret S. Kilcoyne, director of Business Programs and an associate professor of business at Northwestern State University, will be published in the next edition of Delta Pi Epsilon Journal, a national refereed journal.
Delta Pi Epsilon is a national honorary professional graduate society for men and women devoted to the advancement and professionalism of business education.
The journal will publish Kilcoyne's doctoral dissertation, "Job Skills and Office Technology/Tools Used in Job Performance as Perceived by Administrative Support Workers," which was completed at Louisiana State University under the direction of Dr. Donna H. Redmann.
Kilcoyne was selected as the recipient of the 2005 Delta Pi Epsilon Doctoral Research Award for her work.
In her dissertation, Kilcoyne sought to identify the skills that need to be taught in an associate degree program for office information systems with implications for curricular revision. More than 150 members of the International Association of Administrative Professionals in Louisiana, Mississippi and east Texas participated in the study.
Kilcoyne has been at NSU since 1989 and has been a full-time
member of Northwestern's faculty since 1996. She has also served
as director of the Office of Cooperative Education and the Carl
D. Perkins Communication/Presentation Center. Kilcoyne successfully
obtained more than $600,000 in grants for the cooperative education
program and other related programs.
