FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NATCHITOCHES - The Northwestern Theatre will present Shakespeare in a different way when it performs Tim Slover's March Tale Feb. 15-18 at 7:30 p.m. in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. Dr. Roger Held is the director.

The play is the story of Shakespeare and Company's last performance of The Merry Wives of Windsor for Queen Elizabeth. Based partially on fact, the characters in the play involve themselves in their own "Shakespearian" plots and twistscomedy, love, revenge and forgiveness are all par for the course in this most delightful production.

The cast includes Jacob Justice of New Iberia as Robert Cecil, Kyle Accord of Chesterfield, Mo., as Anne Hathaway Shakespeare, Kent Bernard of New Iberia as Richard Burbage, Shane Stelly of Abbeville as Shakespeare and Thea Richard of Arnaudville as Elizabeth I. Also in the cast are Eric Duhon of Grand Lake as Tom, Jamie Hipp of Shreveport as Celia, Gwen Mahan of Gonzales as Emilia, Rob Robinson of Lake Charles as Robert Armin, Dave Combs of Bossier City as John Heminge and Paul Jannise of Lake Arthur as William Kemp.

"It's kind of a pretty play. I really like the way it is structured and the way it works," said Held. "It follows the structure and format of an Elizabethan play with multiple plot lines and stock characters. The plot lines cross but by the end of the play everything falls into place."

March Tale was the Grand Prize Winner of the 65th Annual Writers Digest Awards.

Tickets are $10. NSU and Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts students are admitted free with a student I.D.
