NATCHITOCHES- Four Northwestern State University professors of mathematics attended the annual joint meeting of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) in San Diego, Calif. recently.
Dr. Frank Serio, associate professor and head of the math department, is the chair of the Louisiana-Mississippi section of the MAA. He attended the meeting of MAA section officers.
Dr. Richard Devault, assistant professor, gave a talk entitled "Asymptotic behavior of solutions of x(n+1) = p + x(n-1)/x(n)" during the AMS special session on chaos, Stability, and asymptotics in difference equations.
Dr. Lisa Galminas, associate professor, gave a talk entitled "More undecidable lattices of Steinnitz exchange systems" during the AMS session on logic.
Dr. Craig Bauer, assistant professor, also attended the meeting.
