FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NATCHITOCHES-Northwestern State University and the City of Natchitoches will hold a memorial service Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 7:30 a.m. in the Plaza adjacent to Kyser Hall on the NSU campus. The public is invited to attend.
"The events of September 11 were something that none of us will ever forget. Each of us likely remembers where we were when we heard the terrible news," said NSU President Dr. Randall J. Webb. "The University and the community want to take a moment at the beginning of the day to remember those who were lost, the families they left behind and those who have sacrificed to defend this country over the past year."
The program will include prayer and music as well as brief remarks.
"This memorial service will not only be used to remember
those who lost their lives during the Sept. 11 attacks, but also
to honor those who continue to protect our nation," said
Natchitoches Mayor Wayne McCullen. "The City of Natchitoches
encourages the public to take this time to honor the local firefighters
and police officers who continue to risk their lives every day
for Natchitoches residents."
