NATCHITOCHES-Dr. Patrice Moulton, director of University Planning, Assessment and EEO at Northwestern State University, recently received the Louisiana Distinguished Professional Service Award from the Louisiana Counseling Association.

As the state recipient, Moulton has been nominated for the National Distinguished Professional Service Award from the American Counseling Society. That award will be presented at the Society's annual conference in Kansas City next spring.

"It was rewarding and humbling experience to receive this award," said Moulton, a former faculty member and department head in NSU's Department of Psychology. "There are very few times when you can get this kind of recognition from your colleagues."

Moulton was among counselors from across Louisiana nominated for the honor. The award is presented based on previous awards received and offices held in professional organizations, service to the profession, scientific and scholarly accomplishments and community service.
