NATCHITOCHES-Laci Stokes of Pioneer has been named Miss
NSU and Quincy Spencer of Crowley has been named Mr. NSU. Stokes
and Spencer were selected by students at Northwestern State University
based on their achievements at the university
Stokes is a senior hospitality and management major. She is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elam Stokes and is a graduate of Natchitoches
Central High School. At NSU, Stokes is a member of Sigma Sigma
Sigma Sorority. She is vice president of the Student Activities
Board and the Order of Omega. Stokes is a member of Purple Jackets,
Blue Key and the Hospitality Management and Tourism Association.
She was named the 2002 Homecoming Honor Court queen as well as Greek Woman of the Year. Stokes was a freshman connector in 2000 and 2002. She has served as a Presidential Leadership Program mentor. In 2001, Stokes was a National Association of Campus Activities Conference Silent Auction coordinator. Stokes was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity's White Rose Court.
Spencer is a senior political science major. He is president of the Student Activities Board and has served as president and treasurer of Delta Upsilon International Fraternity. Spencer is also a member of the Order of Omega, College Democrats and Blue Key National Honor Fraternity. He has also been a freshman connector.
Among his other honors were being named king of the 2002 Homecoming Honor Court and Greek Man of the Year. He received the Purple Pride Award and served as Greek Council president. Spencer also participated in the President's Leadership Program and was recipient of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity McQuaid Scholarship. He was also a member of the 2001 Homecoming Honor Court.
