NATCHITOCHES - The NSU Women's and Men's Chorus will present a concert Thursday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall.

The Women's Chorus will also perform Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at the Colfax Baptist Church. The concert is sponsored by Grant Parish Arts Council.

Terrie S. Sanders will conduct the Women's Chorus. Tracey Herndon is the accompanist.

The Women's Chorus will perform, "Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel," a traditional spiritual arranged by Ken Berg, Vivaldi's "Esuriendtes Implevit Boni" (He fills the Hungry with truly Good Things) and "Psalm 100" by Rene Clausen. Herndon and Lane Dunn will accompany the chorus on this piece.

A small ensemble from the choir will sing "Silent as Night" by Carl Bohm arranged by Sherri Porterfield and "Three Little Maids from School" from "The Mikado" by Gilbert and Sullivan.

The program by the Men's Chorus will consist of traditional men's chorus repertoire such as songs of the sea, contemporary love ballads and spirituals. Some of these numbers that will be performed are "And So it Goes," a Billy Joel classic, "Deep River," a traditional spiritual and "The Sea is Now Calling," a traditional song of the sea for men's chorus. Michael Rorex will conduct the Men's Chorus.

During the Colfax performance, the Women's Chorus will also perform "Joshua!" arranged by Kirby Shaw, "The Turtle Dove" arranged by Frank Ahrold, "The Violet" by Mark Patterson and "Simple Gifts" arranged by Mark Hayes with assistance by Johnette Perkins on clarinet.
