NATCHITOCHES - Northwestern State University will host a National Cheerleaders Association Cheer and Dance Camp July 25-28.

Cheerleading and dance squads from 28 schools will participate in the camp which will teach participants the latest techniques and routines. Schools and dance companies participating include: All-Star Elites of Stonewall, Kinder High School, Mt. Olive High School, Welsh - Roanoke Junior High of Jennings, Rapides High School, Hope High School, Eunice High School, Coushatta High School, Buna (Texas) High School, Basile High School, Boothville-Venice High School and Vidrine High School.

Also scheduled to take part are: Iota Junior High, Captain Shreve High School, Quinlan (Texas) Independent School District, Stanley High School, Youree Drive Middle School, Bolton High School, Bunkie High School, Grambling High School, Grant High School, Green Oaks High School, Iota High School, Winnsboro High School, Port Sulphur High School, Smith Junior High School of Alexandria, Mansfield High School, Converse High School and Wossman High School.

The National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) was founded in 1948 and has trained more than 4,000,000 men and women. NCA runs more than 1,500 summer camps at 400 locations and governs national and regional championship events.
