NATCHITOCHES- Amanda Crain of Texarkana, Texas, won the 43rd Annual Miss Northwestern Lady of the Bracelet Pageant held Friday at Northwestern State University.
Crain, a sophomore biology major, was awarded more than $5,000 in scholarships and prizes and will represent Northwestern in June's Miss Louisiana Pageant in Monroe. She won both the swimsuit and eveningwear competition.
Ashley Greber of Bossier City was the first runner up. Laura Terrell of Natchitoches was the second runner up followed by Blair Rohner of Greensburg and Callie Reames of Greenwell Springs.
Reames won the talent competition. Greber and Terrell were both named Miss Congeniality.
A graduate of Texas High School, Crain is the daughter of Barry and Diane Crain. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and has served as service chairman and national magazine chairman. Crain has also been active in other campus organizations. She has been a Dean's List student. Her platform issue is "Mentoring Youth."
